This agreement explains who owns the data in Compass Campaign and what happens to it when a campaign ends.
Voter records, organization records and organization contact people are shared records owned by Trenton Hoyt LLC through the Compass Master file, including records that a campaign uploads or improves. This keeps one accurate record per real person or organization.
Each campaign owns its private notes, contact statuses, priorities, follow-up dates, outreach history, walk results and records marked campaign only. Other campaigns cannot see this data.
While a campaign is active, it receives a limited, non-transferable license to use the shared records it can access, only inside the platform and only for its own outreach.
Campaigns and users may not sell, share, or transfer voter data outside the Compass Campaign ecosystem, and may not give other campaigns or candidates access to it. Violations end the campaign's license immediately.
A campaign can request an export of its campaign-owned data. After that, the campaign is archived. Shared records stay in Compass Campaign.
Compass Campaign does not guarantee that it holds all of the data for your race, district or area. Voter, organization, district, precinct and contact data may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate.
It is ultimately your campaign's responsibility to acquire and import the data you need for your outreach and to verify it before relying on it. Any data we provide is offered as a convenience only, "as is" and "as available," with no guarantee or warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular purpose.
